Framing the Wild Edge
:
A survey of ocean pools in NSW
2016
This is one fragment of a collective, continuous string of ocean pools which dot the NSW Coastline. Ocean Pools are a profoundly Australian phenomenon, their preponderance along our coastline marks a significant and long standing connection with the ocean. Their presence on our coastline spans back beyond colonial occupation where they first played a role in the management and care of sea country. Today they have resurfed as valued community assets and icons of our national identity, manifestations of our deep set affinity with the coastline. If our surroundings tell us of who we are, ocean pools speak of our love affair with the water's edge.
